With the Event Genius plugin it’s easy to create recurring events which repeat on an ongoing basis.
Creating a Recurring Event
The option for this is located in the “Date and Time” section when creating or editing an event.

The “Repeat” field gives you the option to choose from daily, weekly, monthly, or every weekday (Mon-Fri).

After selecting an option, an “End Repeat” setting will appear to allow you to choose when the event stops repeating.

Updating an Existing Recurring Event
When updating an existing recurring event there are a few nuances to be aware of.
Firstly, changing the details for an event will affect all of the other instances of that event too. So, for example, if you change the name of the event, this will be changed for all instances of the recurring event.
Secondly, if you change the repeat schedule for an event (eg. from weekly to monthly), then this will affect anyone who has already registered for an instance of that event and result in any existing registrations being removed/reset. This does not affect registrations for the first event, only for the recurring instances of it.

If you have existing registrations for the event that you don’t want to lose, then it is advised to first export your registrations before updating the repeat schedule for the event and losing your existing registrations. This way, you can send an email to the previous registrants to let them know and request that they register again for the new event date or time.
Note: The Pro version of the plugin includes the ability to automatically notify existing registered attendees about the updated event date/time without needing to manually contact them.
