Collecting payments for your event registrations with Stripe is very easy to set up.

Configure your Stripe Account

Start by creating an account on Stripe.com. Once this is done, you can create API keys by finding the Developers menu in the bottom left corner of the dashboard page. Select the menu and then choose API keys

Follow the instructions to create a live publishable key and a live secret key (both are needed)

Add Credentials to Event Genius

After creating the publishable and secret keys, copy and paste them into the Stripe settings page for Event Genius. Navigate to Settings and then Payments to see available gateways. Enable the Stripe gateway and then click the Configure button.

On this page, you can add your Stripe credentials and save your changes.

Start Collecting Payments

You will now be able to collect credit card payments and other supported payments for events that have a cost and have payment collection enabled.

Testing Payments Before Going Live

To test payments before collecting live transactions, you can set up a sandbox account. While on the stripe home page, create and switch to a sandbox account.

Once on the dashboard page for your sandbox account, go through the same steps as you did for creating live payment API keys.

Create the API keys.

Add them to your Stripe configuration and switch to Test mode.

When you are ready to go live, disable test mode and follow the steps above for creating live keys.
