Event Genius is fully compatible with WordPress block themes and full site editing (FSE), allowing you to have complete control over your event page design using the WordPress Site Editor. Whether you’re using Twenty Twenty-Four, Twenty Twenty-Three, or any other block theme, you can customize every aspect of your event pages, organizer pages, venue pages, and calendar displays without writing a single line of code.
What is Full Site Editing and Block Theme Support?
Full site editing (FSE) is a WordPress feature that allows you to design your entire website using blocks in the Site Editor. Block themes are WordPress themes built specifically for FSE, providing a visual, block-based approach to website design.
Event Genius provides specialized blocks that automatically detect the context (event, organizer, venue, or series) and display the appropriate information. These blocks are designed to work seamlessly with block themes like Twenty Twenty-Four, giving you complete design control while maintaining all the functionality of Event Genius.

How to Use Event Genius Blocks in the Site Editor
Step 1: Access the Site Editor
Navigate to Appearance > Editor in your WordPress dashboard. This opens the Site Editor where you can customize your templates.

Step 2: Edit Your Event Template
In the Site Editor, click on Templates in the left sidebar, then select Single Event (or create a new template for single events). This is where you’ll design how individual event pages look.

Step 3: Add Event Genius Blocks
Click the + button to add blocks, then search for “Event Genius” or browse the Event Genius category. All Event Genius blocks will automatically detect that they’re on an event page and display the appropriate information.

Step 4: Arrange and Customize
Drag and drop blocks to arrange them in any order you want. You can use standard WordPress blocks (like headings, paragraphs, columns, and groups) alongside Event Genius blocks to create custom layouts. All blocks support spacing, colors, and typography settings from your theme.

Benefits of Using Event Genius with Block Themes
- Complete Design Control – Design your event pages exactly how you want without custom code
- Theme Integration – Event Genius blocks automatically inherit your theme’s styles and colors
- Visual Editing – See your changes in real-time as you design in the Site Editor
- No Code Required – Build beautiful event pages using only the block editor
- Responsive by Default – All blocks are fully responsive and mobile-friendly
- Consistent Design – Maintain design consistency across all event, organizer, and venue pages
Registration Form Block Options
The Registration Form block offers three display types to suit your design needs:
- Inline – The registration form displays directly on the page where you place the block
- Full Width – The form displays in a full-width container, perfect for dedicated registration sections
- Modal Button – Shows a button that opens the registration form in a modal popup
You can also enable “Show Event Info” to display event details (title, date, venue) above the form or button. The block automatically detects if registration is closed, full, or not yet open and displays appropriate messages instead of the form.
Attendee List Block Options
The Attendee List block provides flexible display options:
- Auto – Automatically uses the current event when on an event page, or finds the next upcoming event
- Simple – Clean, minimal list format with customizable field display
- Full – Complete attendee information with sortable columns and field selection
Template-Only Blocks
Some Event Genius blocks are designed specifically for use in templates and won’t appear in the regular post/page editor. These “template-only” blocks include:
- Event Featured Image
- Event Date
- Event Location
- Event About Items
- Event Content Heading
- Event Export
- Event Categories
- Event Tags
- Event CTA
- Event Organizers
- Organizer Content
- Venue Content
- Series Content (Pro)
These blocks automatically detect the page context (event, organizer, venue, or series) and display the appropriate information. They’re perfect for building custom templates in the Site Editor.
